Richard Carey Payne, 78, died November 18, 2025, peacefully at his home in Pueblo West, Colorado, where he retired after living for many years in California, Arizona, and Ohio. Born March 16, 1947, in Illinois, he was a loving and devoted Husband to Linda, and Dad to Richard Jr., Christopher Oatson (Gina), Kimberly Peters (Jayson), Leigh Halstead (Scott), Chip, and many others he adopted along his journey. He was Papa to John Payne (Adalinda), William Payne (Carleen), Karl Halstead, Cassidy Edelman (née Oatson) (Dylan), Alysa Halstead (Paul), and Trevor Peters (Madelyn). And he was Great Papa to Ezra, Oaklynn, Ezekiel, Lakelyn, Alexander, Finnegan, and Malcolm. Richard was a proud Marine who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as a radio operator. After the service, he was a welder and tow truck operator. He enjoyed NASCAR, football, golf, and going on trips with his wife to Laughlin and Branson, weekly auctions, and family dinners. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy; siblings John and Dorthy; son Chip; and son-in-law Scott. Memorial services were held at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 145 S. Abarr Drive, Pueblo West, Colorado, on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m.

Mary Rose Poineau (Rubick), of Brookfield, Illinois was born on April 27, 1921, in Ottawa, Kansas. She passed on October --- at the age of 104. She was one of three daughters born to Wencle John Rubick and Mary Rubick (Domnonish). She moved to Colorado in her 20’s and resided in Pueblo, Colorado for most of her life. She moved to the Chicago area in 2017 to be near family. She lived a long full life and spent many years traveling the world. Predeceased by Clarence Poineau, husband; Larry E. Poineau, son; and sisters Velma Peine and Agnes Rubick. Survived by John W Poineau (son), Theresa (Daughter in- law), Michael Poineau, Daniel Poineau, and Michelle Vale (Grandchildren), and Kate Poineau, Olivia Vale, Nathan Poineau, and Jack Vale (Great grandchildren) She enjoyed being with family on the holidays, especially her great grandchildren. She was loved by all who know her and will be missed.
